Configure communication timeout duration and retry attempts

Asked by Amrinder Rattanpal. Some of our clients are experiencing issue with citrix receiver keep disconnecting. It is being complained only by users connecting to one particular delivery group.

We have 6 servers in that delivery group. Everyday when user connects, it works fine for sometime and suddenly it shows up error "Reconnecting" followed by error "Could not reconnect". But the apps remain connected and this error keeps popping up.

Este artigo foi traduzido automaticamente. You can configure Citrix Gateway to force a disconnection if there is no activity on the connection for a specified number of minutes. One minute before a session times out disconnects , the user receives an alert indicating the session closes. If the session closes, the user must log on again. You can enable any of the timeout settings by entering a value between 1 and to specify the minutes for the time-out interval.

If you enable more than one of these settings, the first time-out interval to elapse closes the user device connection. You configure time-out settings by configuring global settings or by using a session profile. When you add the profile to a session policy, the policy is then bound to a user, group, or virtual server.

When you configure the time-out settings globally, the settings are applied to all user sessions. Forced timeout and session timeout decisions occur on the Citrix ADC appliance and therefore those timeouts work as intended. If such timeout occurs, the VPN plug-in tries to perform automatic authentication. In Always On, as the user device must be connected via the VPN tunnel all the time, do not configure forced timeout or client idle timeout.

However, session timeout can be configured to get rid of stale sessions. Some applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, automatically send network traffic probes to email servers without any user intervention.

Citrix recommends that you configure Idle session time-out with session time-out to ensure that a session left unattended on a user device times out in a reasonable time.

A forced time-out disconnects the Citrix Secure Access agent automatically after a specified amount of time. You can configure a forced time-out globally or as part of a session policy.

If you want to have further control over who receives the forced time-out, create a session policy and then apply the policy to a user or group. When you create a session policy and profile, set the expression to True.

This occurs even with the default session time-out of 30 minutes. Citrix receiver timeout. How to Configure Session Timeouts in StoreFront

The session timeout parameter is not honored correctly by both citrix receiver timeout browser and Receiver sessions when connected through NetScaler Gateway. Session time-out is configured on the NetScaler Gateway to control the time-out. However, the sessions are getting cleared after some time, that is, it is taking longer than specified timeout value to clear citrix receiver timeout session.

NetScaler sessions can live longer than the configured value. It might take around 5 minutes more than the specified time out value. When NetScaler Gateway determines that a session is idle for certain duration, the following are the things that can happen:. If there is an alive TCP connection on that session, it would check again in 5 minutes. That is, if session timeout is too short, say 2 minutes, and TCP idle timeout is 3 minutes, at the 2nd minute NetScaler Gateway sees that there is a timeout.

But it also sees that there is an active connection. So, it goes back to wait for 5 minutes to check again at the 7th minute. If there is no active TCP connection, then there is "multi-core" processing that happens to synchronize actions. Let us say there is a citrix receiver timeout of 10 minutes configured and it is started simultaneously on all cores.

When non-owner times out, it sends a notification to the owner. When all non-owners say that they timed-out and if owner is also timed-out by then, session is removed. Failed to load featured products content, Please try again.
